May 14th Thank You Note
While we’re thankful for the scenery, the new people we’ve met and the new experiences we have had in Spain so far, we’re especially thankful for our friends back in the U.S.
First, let me say thanks to the crew at Fractl, the agency run by dear friends, who put together my website and blog. A gorgeous and well-organized site was the result of much hard work. As friends of Sam (and now Henry) they have supported our family through this tragedy in so many ways. Their company’s consistent backing of Sam’s fund at CU has been astonishing. We are so fortunate to have met you on this journey through life.
Next, let me thank the team at the University of Colorado, who have whole-heartedly backed us on this trip. They have provided ideas and much encouragement. They shared news about the trek and the blog with guests at CU graduation yesterday. And, they have written a terrific article to publicize the trip with CU students, faculty and alumni. You can read it here http://bit.ly/trishtrek. We love you Buffs.
To Henry, my rock, I send love and thanks on this Mother’s Day. He encouraged me in my planning of the trek and has cheered me on as I trained. I left him with the task of sending out the emails announcing the trek, as we headed off to Spain. Little did we know that Verizon/AOL would decide that we were spammers, kick back most of the emails and lock our accounts. He has spent days doggedly trying to sort it out.
To our dear friends and family, muchos gracias. To the pals who joined me on training walks, asked pointed questions about the safety of this trip, made equipment suggestions, listened to my blister stories, I thank you. To the many who have already contributed funds to the campaign, I am forever grateful. And for everyone out there providing moral support by following along, you’re the best.😘
