Day 29 Supplemental post

I had a lot of trouble with the Day 29 post, due to a lost WiFi connection and weak cell service. I was deep in the mountains, so not surprised. I realize that the biker video didn’t post and several other photos were omitted. So, here’s a make-up post. Bikers That tuna empanada The unique pollozas, round stone huts with …

Day 29 (June 8) Herrerias to Biduedo (14.3 Miles)

As I started this walk today I tried to wrap my head around how I was going to walk for 6 to 8 hours in the rain. It happened and I made it in about 6 1/2. One step, one stone, one puddle, one foot in front of the other. I am now in Galicia, the eastern-most region of Spain, …

Day 28 (June 7) Viilafranca del Bierzo to Herrerias (13 Miles)

(They’re not on the internet). I tried again this morning. Finally someone answered and said they were full for tonight and added, “we’re all …

I also want to offer an explanation. I receive many comments on my blog and love reading them all. They give me the strength and courage …

Day 27 (June 5) Rabanal del Camino to Molinaseca (16 Miles)

Sixteen miles felt like a hundred. The walk started with a smooth uphill, followed by hours of downhill over very rocky terrain. I expected the walk to take 5-6 hours. It took 8. Rocky and muddy, every step was a calculated risk. I am beat. The anticipated highlight of the day was the Cruz de Ferro, an iron cross mounted …
